Hi! I'm Jodi, founder of Fit with JMK!

I have a passion for training people that want to rediscover how to move in a way that is best suited to them in their current situation. I want my clientele to feel empowered with the knowledge to discover their strength, power and mobility through controlled movement patterns keeping in mind breath, core and joint health.


My passion as a personal trainer stemmed from my own struggles recovering from an L1 vertebra burst compression fracture that caused 70 percent spinal cord compression and two back surgeries. Looking back, I realize how little I knew about recovering from such a traumatic injury. I thought I was training correctly post injury, thinking I was getting stronger, until my left SI joint gave way because of wear and tear to the joint from not optimally controlling my movements.


Frustrated and in pain, I surrounded myself with a fabulous rehab team, unknowingly sparking my journey to career in the health industry.  The knowledge from these amazing professionals and my personal struggles through the rehab process grew an immense desire to help show others how to discover their own strength.


With a continual thirst for knowledge on how the human body responses to movement forces, I was initially certified by CanFit Pro as both a Personal Training Specialist and Pre and Post Natal Fitness Instructor. Eventually, I went on to complete my diploma as a Personal Fitness Trainer at the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology.  

Over the years, I have taken a host of other courses and workshops!

    Strength training from the inside out has enables me to live a relatively pain free life and blossomed my love for the human body and how it can heal when given the right tools. 


    Even after my back injury, I carried my two beautiful babies; one born by c-section and the other by VBAC delivery.


    I am believer that “Yes you can” accomplish your goals and I am there to help you along the way.


    Because of this journey, Fit with JMK opened in 2015.
